Jared and Misha - car wars!

Ok, this is the first time that I actually heard this entire story, so thank you Zap2It! LOL!
From this article (which does contain some info about the 100th ep tonight, FYI)

"Sorry, man, I'm going to bust you. Jared and Misha [Collins] got into a bit of an automobile sabotage battle," Ackles says. "See, Jared decided that Misha's car was in the way. So he rear-ended it."
"I thought it was moving!" Padalecki interrupts. Collins retaliated by intentionally side-swiping Jared's car. "I've got a big truck, and he's got a nice sedan. Very classy, like you'd expect Misha to have. Nice."
"I walk out of my trailer the next day," Ackles continues, "and I see Jared. It's dark, and he's out there with a flashlight, letting all the air out of Misha's tires." They were filming in what Padalecki calls "the dregs" of downtown Vancouver, and Collins got stuck on location.
Ackles says that the story doesn't end there. "So then I find Misha on the phone with a tow truck company. Literally, Jared is on his way back from the set, and Misha's on the phone like 'You gotta get here A.S.A.P., we gotta get this SUV outta here and tow it abck to the studio.' Man, I was glad I didn't drive my car to work today."
"Misha lives in his own reality," Padalecki adds. Off-the-record, he detailed his plans for retaliation. Collins -- who is, of course, a Zap2it favorite -- is in for a surprise.

ROTFL!! Oh geez, that's friggin' PRICELESS! I wish I could've seen all that in person. :-)

Thanks again for doing this. I'm going to make another post on my LJ about this and link them to your entry here. I've also got several DW folks who have offered up invites, too. Now that I have a DW account does this mean I have invites, too? Or does that only apply to paid accounts? And can only paid accounts add a graphic to their journal header? I couldn't quite figure out how to get a nice pic of Sam and Dean on mine. :-)

Date: 2010-04-16 07:57 pm (UTC)You might. I don't know if they automatically set up new accounts with invites anymore. If you do have any you can find them via the DW Home page. There should be a link at the top toward the right-hand side that says "Invite Someone." DW periodically grants invite codes, and I believe email notifications are sent out when that happens.
If you want to offer a bunch of people codes, you can direct them here: http://dw-codesharing.dreamwidth.org/ (They don't have to make any special requests--there are plenty of free codes for the taking in several different posts.)
Nope! It's possible that they get more invite codes at a time (?), but really if anyone needs more codes, they just have to ask for them at the above-mentioned comm. They are very much about about building a community where friends bring in friends who bring in friends, etc.
Now this I was unsure about (I have a free account and have never tried to customize my layout beyond the color LOL).
This page list the breakdown of account features between Free/Paid/Premium levels: http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=4
It mentions free accounts have "limited" ability to create custom styles, so that may be one of the limits--however, I didn't see that spelled out anywhere.
If you are trying to copy a style from LJ over here to DW this post may be helpful: http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=171
Also, here is a link to the tutorials tag at dw_styles: http://dw-styles.dreamwidth.org/tag/tutorial
Sorry, I can't be more help in this area--the customizing layout stuff tends to go over my head. :D

Oh, cool! Thanks! I'm hoping to get some folks converted over here. :-)

Ah, fantastic! I really appreciate you taking the time to research this for me.

Oh neat! I didn't even think something like that was possible.

Date: 2010-04-17 02:20 am (UTC)Hey, thank you so much for posting thissss!!! but I have some doubts about the meaning
"So he rear-ended it."
what it means?
Collins retaliated by intentionally side-swiping Jared's car.
what is that of "side-swiping"?
Hope you can answer me!
Thank you
Re: Hey
Date: 2010-04-19 05:44 pm (UTC)what it means?
It means Jared drove his car into the back end of Misha's.
what is that of "side-swiping"?
That means that Misha drove his car right up against Jared's, scraping up the entire side of it.
