Summer TV viewing

So summer is finally upon us and with it comes all sorts of different shows on our TV screens. Here's what I'm watching...

• Crisis - this one just came to an end on Saturday night and I haven't had a chance to watch those final two episodes yet. I'm so disappointed that NBC already canceled this show, because I thought it was brilliant, different and so well written. I only hope the last episode wraps things up as best as it could.

• Starsky and Hutch, Knight Rider, Magnum P.I. - we've got this new station, COZI TV and it's playing all these old shows from the 70's and 80's. Been great watching the three I listed. Still love Starsky and Hutch to death, but OMG, Knight Rider was so bad! LOL!

• Rookie Blue - one of my favorite Canadian shows that ABC imports for a summer run. Lots of cast changes over the last few seasons that doesn't make me happy, but it's still a consistently good show.

• Covert Affairs - this gets started up again tonight. As much as I love Chris Gorham the show has become pretty "meh" for me. I really disliked last season with the single plot line with Henry and I'm hoping we get back to a bunch of different missions for Annie and Auggie this season

• Night Shift - thought I'd give this one a shot just for the heck of it since Eoin Macken from Merlin is the star. OMG, he should never try and speak with a Texas accent, EVER! LOL! Best part of the show is Brendan Fehr playing an in the closet gay soldier

• Motive - another brilliantly written show from Canada that we get as a summer series. I already watched the entire season via download but it's so good that I watch it again every week.

• The Musketeers - another show I was impatient for that I downloaded that just started on BBCA. I've watched the first six episodes so far and I'm enjoying it. I love Santiago Cabrera and he's great as Aramis. With Peter Capaldi cast as the new Doctor Who I'm wondering what's going to happen to Cardinal Richelieu. Will they re-cast the part next season?

• Masterpiece Theater with David Tennant - speaking of the British, my Google alert went off last week and told me about The Escape Artist, a three-part mini-series on our local PBS station. We've seen the first part and enjoyed it (David is great) but man, British law makes NO sense!

So that's what I've been tuning into so far this summer. What are YOUR favorite summer shows?

I need to look up Musketeers, meant to watch it but forgot about it; I've been watching that BBC America show "In the Flesh" about the zombies who are now 'human' again because of some drug they have to take and how they try to reassimilate into society. I think it's finished its season now, though. Watching "Nightshift" and there's a new series on syfy, "Dominion," that was pretty good, just watched the pilot episode of that so I'm gonna give that one a try. I've been watching this reality show (can't recall the channel, maybe Bravo or Lifetime?) called "Ladies of London" about American expat women trying to fit into posh London society and all the rules of the hoity-toity British elite women, ha; also loved watching "The Little Couple" this season but I think it's done for now. It's time for "Under the Dome" to start back up, and the season premiere of "Falling Skies" was pretty good, I'm gonna be watching that show again this summer. I can't think of all the other ones I'm watching or have watched recently.

The Musketeers is pretty good. I don’t really care for the young guy playing D’Artagnan but the other three guys are good. Ooh, hadn’t heard of In the Flesh. Sounds interesting, a different take on the whole zombie thing. Dominion! Dang, I forgot that got started! I’ll have to see if I can find the first episode for download because the commercials for it looked really interesting. I love The Little Couple, too! Those kids, Zoe and Will, are so darn cute. I was interested in watching Under the Dome last season until they decided to not just make it a limited run and instead renew it for another season. Just don’t have time for another multi-season show! But I’d like to see Colin Ford. He’ll always be little Sammy Winchester to me!
