A bit of this and that
Morning, all!
Sorry I haven't been very chatty lately on here. I've been dealing with a sick cat for almost a week now. Mandy came down with…something. One minute she's fine and the next she barely eats, drinks or leaves her bed. This went on for 4 days. I finally told John to make a vet appointment. Mandy was acting just like Chloe did when we found out about her kidney failure and we were terrified we were going to lose her too, only a few months after losing Chloe. It was just too much to even contemplate. So John no more than makes the appointment and Mandy snaps out of it! Over the last two days she's been eating and drinking like crazy, is back to grooming herself and is awake and alert the majority of the day. So we moved the vet appointment to Monday instead. But if she continues to improve we'll cancel it. I can't imagine what was wrong with her but we're so relieved that she's bouncing back. Especially since her day on the Cat Fancy calendar is Monday. We already lost Chloe before her day back in May. I wouldn't have been able to handle it if Mandy didn't live for her special day.
Whew. So yeah, been kind of tense around the house, but things are improving and so is my mood, so I thought I'd catch you guys up on what I've been doing.
Remember the glass fusion class I took a week ago? Got to go and pick up my finished pieces the other day and here they are!
Not bad for my first try at this. But the weird thing is, that wasn't supposed to be red, white and blue. It was supposed to be red, white and GREEN, for a Christmas pendant. The piece of glass I picked was green! I don't know why when it was fired it turned blue. So now I have a 4th of July necklace instead of Christmas. [pout] But I do like how the pastel one turned out.
The weather was nice here the other day, so John and I got outside and put up the Christmas lights on the house and the fence and the bushes. I had to take this photo when we were done - Christmas meets Thanksgiving. :-)
And to end with your daily dose of cuteness (even though John would kill me if he knew I was posting this *g*) I give you A Man and His Kitten - Relaxing
Thanksgiving is tomorrow! I have a four-day weekend! Woot! It will be my last days of rest for a while, though, as my office begins packing up on Monday for our move to our new building on December 5th. It's going to be freaking mass chaos with over 100 employees all doing this at the same time. There are going to be so many totes and boxes piled up you're not going to be able to walk down the hallways!
So yeah, I'm going to do nothing but eat turkey, watch TV and read books for the next four days. :-)
If I'm not online tomorrow, I want to wish all of my friends here in the U.S. a very Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble, gobble!

HOMG, it is SO cool that you took a glass fusion class. *JEALOUS* I'm going to have to see if there's one around here in Atlanta. I would love to make something like that. Those are GORGEOUS, hon! You should be proud of all of them. :)
I love that you've got Christmas decorations up already. J and I still have our table set with Thanksgiving decor and it'll stay up till Monday, probably. After that I'm going to start digging out the Christmas boxes and making the house look festive. Of course, I'm sick with a horrible chest cold right now so it'll depend on how I feel as to how much decorating gets done. >__<
I love the photo of John and Bean. Hehehe. So cute. Relaxing and reading around the house sounds like a great time. I'm feeling well enough to drag out the sketchbook again so I'm going to spend today just doodling. :) You'll have to let us know how the mass migration between buildings goes.

Thankfully Mandy has continued to improve and she’s back to her normal self now. She really had us worried! But now she’s eating like a horse and swatting Bean on the head. :-)

Aww, thanks, sunshine! The class was cheap, like $25, through the park district and they provided everything, even the cutting tools! It was a great deal and I hope they have another one in the spring. The woman who taught the class says it’s addicting and she was so right! I want to make MORE!

At least the outside of the house is festive. The inside...now that we’ve got a new kitten we’re not sure what we’re going to put up, especially the tree. Because we can already picture Bean climbing it like Mt. Rushmore. :-)
Speaking of Christmas - what can I get you as a gift, sweetheart? Do you need a gift card to a craft store or something? Or Amazon? Let me know what I can get you to make your holiday special. {{HUGS}}

I’m happy to report that Mandy has made a full recovery, all by herself. She really did have John and I worried. And today we’re celebrating because it’s her day on the calendar!

Oh yes, while the weather is still good we get all the lights up. Nothing worse than trying to put them up in freezing temperatures! I just love Christmas - giving gifts, decorating, everything. And everyone seems in such a good mood for a few weeks out of the year. :-)

Oh I know. I’m afraid of just putting everything in boxes and letting the moving company take over. I think that I’ll be taking some of my personal things in my own car, so I’m not worried that something will go missing.
