Leverage meets Houston Knights
I finally had a chance to watch the latest Leverage ep, The Radio Job, last night and not only was it a kick ass episode with a HELL of an ending (so that's why they repeated the pilot last weekend!) but OMG, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw one of the guest stars was MICHAEL PARE! (He was the lead FBI guy who kept calling Eliot "cowboy")
I've been a big fan of Michael's ever since I first saw him back in the '80's on Houston Knights where he played Joey LaFiamma. Here, take a look:

That's Michael Beck on the right, his co-star, who played his police partner, Levon Lundy. What killed me is, Joey would call Levon "cowboy" so when Michael's character called Eliot that, I couldn't believe it. :-)
I ended up having the most bizarre dream last night because of all of this. In it, I was back in Portland on vacation with
celtprincess13* and
hollylyn1217*. We were at a restaurant, eating outside and I kept looking at his guy sitting at a table all by himself. I finally said to Kim and Laura, "I think that's Michael Pare!" and I got up and went over to him. Sure enough it was, and I ended up having this totally cool conversation with him. At one point he asked me why I was in Portland and I said that we were supposed to be there for a Leverage convention but it got canceled so we decided to just make a vacation out of it. He's like, "You're kidding me, I'm here to film a guest spot for that show!" He ended up taking all three of us to the set where we got to meet Tim, Aldis, Gina, Beth and of course, Christian. We got to watch them film, got autographs and photos taken with everyone. Let me tell you, I was a bit irritated when the alarm woke me up! LOL! But then it put a smile on my face. :-)

And yes, I’ve also seen him in Greatest American Hero. And giggled. :-)

And I totally agree with you, that episode KICKED MAJOR ASS!!! I was totally shocked to find out that Dubenich from the very first episode has been behind all this. WOW!! Nice twist there.

Not only was I stunned about Dubenich but what happened to Nate’s father. Damn! Talk about being out for some serious revenge in the next episode!

No explanations, we've been through this already, right? I'm so gonna grab me that Leverage episode ... LOL.
Holy cow, that dream was freakin' awesome, wouldn't mind talking to the guy and being taken to the set of Leverage and meet all the other amazing guys *sigh*
I think I'll have to get my Eddie and the Cruisers videotapes out just like right now ... ;o)

OMG, that dream was SO good. We talked about HK and he asked me what my favorite episode was (Single in Heaven) and I said that I loved that the pilot was filmed in Chicago.
“Eddie and the Cruisers” is awesome! I prefer the second movie simply because Michael is in basically the whole thing instead of flashbacks in the first one. For the longest time I thought it was actually Michael singing in both films. John Cafferty’s voice sounds so much like his!

Now there's a show I wish would come out on dvd -- I'd love to be able to watch Houston Knights in something other multigenerational vhs recordings.

With all the crap that comes out on DVD I have to shake my head at the TV shows that don’t. I transfered my first-gen VHS tapes onto DVD many years ago and I’m glad I did, because I’ve gone back and watched the entire series many times. I even made a songvid for HK!
P.S. - Love the icon!

See, for this child of the 80s, Michael Pare is from Eddie and The Cruisers. Man, I loved that movie and watched it a bunch of times. Might have to search it out on Netflix and see if has stood the test of time.

OMG, it was the most vivid dream! Know where we eating? Remember the place we went to after the sailboat cruise? We ate inside but there were tables outside, and we were back there, sitting outside. And you’re very welcome. Couldn’t leave you gals behind now could I? :-)

LOVED those movies. Especially the second one because he was in basically the entire thing instead of just in flashbacks in the first one. I still play the soundtrack every so often. :-)

I think the first thing I ever saw Michael Pare on was Greatest American Hero.... I'm planning on catching up on Leverage this coming weekend while traveling, so am now really looking forward to seeing this episode!

LOL! Oh, I bet he’d like to scrub that from his memory. :-) I prefer to think of him from The Warriors instead.

I didn’t see him on that until many, many years later, and then I giggled my way through it. :-)

I hope you like it! I was thrilled that Michael was in nearly the entire episode and not just a cameo.
