SQUEE! I'm so excited I can barely stand it. :-) Boy, it's gonna be a long day at work! My incredibly wonderful husband will be standing outside of Best Buy as soon as the doors open in a few hours to pick up not only a set for me, but one for

charityflint as well, since she has to work today, too.

Then Charity is coming over tonight and we're going to drown ourselves in SPN extras and the Paley DVD. I'm so excited to finally see all the goodies that other lucky fans already have.

My poor husband will be banished to the bedroom for the evening as Charity and I take over the TV and squeal for a couple of hours. :-)

Oh, and I'm wearing my Metallicar shirt today in honor of the DVD release. :-)

Let's see, how 'bout some other random musings...

First, I must thank my friend

shadow_walker3. Because of her, myself and Charity were finally able to see the unaired pilot of Young MacGyver, with Jared Padalecki. Ummm....I can kinda see why it didn't get picked up. LOL! Jared looked like he was about 15 years old! I'm a huge fan of the original MacGyver and would have loved to have seen this spin off get off the ground. I think subsequent episodes would probably have gotten much better, but it didn't get a chance. I'm really glad I did finally get to see it, though. Jared's smile and laugh are wonderful. :-)

Second...I got to march in the Labor Day parade yesterday. Yay! It was for my Citizen's Fire Academy class. We were right at the front of the parade, sandwiched in between two of the huge engines. Can you said loud? Luckily the rain stopped right before the parade kicked off and held off until we were finished. The weather didn't seem to keep anyone indoors, as there were a zillion people along the sidewalks. I got to throw candy for half the parade then carry our banner for the other half. A couple news crews were out. Maybe I got on TV! :-) I hadn't been in a parade since I was a kid, so I really did have a fantastic time.

Kinda sad that yesterday marked the last day of summer, though. Hard to believe that June, July and August flew by so fast!

When I woke up yesterday morning and it was raining steadily, I resigned myself to the fact that there wasn't going to be a parade. At the same time I was hit by a plot bunny as I lay in bed listening to the rain. Eager to start writing, I got up and made some breakfast. I'd only gotten two sentences down when my husband said, "Um, it's stopped raining." I'm like "What? Now?! But I just started writing!" It killed me to have to put my writing away and get dressed for the parade. Luckily the bunny stayed firmly put in my head and didn't go hopping off while I was marching and throwing candy. :-) Got back home and pounded out Slowly, Softly, Gently in a couple hours and I'm really pleased with it.

And lastly...who else is enjoying Jensen in Dark Angel? When I found out that it was going to be shown on SF channel, my dear friend Charity said she'd tape the eps for me. Then she told me he was in 18 of the 22 eps. So I just went out and bought the second season on DVD. :-) I absolutely love the character of Alec and Jensen is freakin' HOT. Alec reminds me so much of Dean, with the cool car, the leather jacket, the smart ass attitude and even the humor. I've watched up through Brainiac so far, and I hear the next one, The Berrisford Agenda, is a really good Alec ep. Oh, and bonus for me, with Martin Cummins in this season as well. He was my favorite on Poltergeist:The Legacy!

Ok, that's all from here for today. Only six and a half hours until SPN DVDs!

I adore Alec. I bought season 2 of DA over Christmas, and haven't regretted it yet. You'll really like The Berrisford Agenda. Pretty much the best episode ever, in my opinion.

Oooh, wow, best one? Cool! Was hoping to have a chance to watch it yesterday afternoon, but the writing bug hit instead. Hmmm...maybe Charity and I will have time tonight after watching the DVD extras. I know she hasn't seen that ep yet, either.

Called off work and I am on my way out of the door.

WOOT!!! I know that they are probably mad because I didn't go in, but you know? Shit happens.

*dances at the thought of extras, extras and more extras!!*

I wanted to call in SO bad today. But when I left on Friday I had a ton of work piled on me and if I would've taken today off I never would've been able to catch up. Grrr... So not fair! Don't these people realize I have priorities?? LOL!

Really?? I thought we were the only ones with freaky weather - raining one minute, snowing the next, you know? Glad to know we're not alone. :-)

Argh. Amazon hadn't shipped mine (I ordered it with a book that won't be released until tomorrow) so I thought I'd go to Best Buy after work and see what the price was on their version, with the extra disc, and then cancel the Amazon order if the price is comparable.
Only I just got an email from Amazon that it shipped this morning and should arrive NEXT Monday.

Grrrrr.

NEXT Monday?? No freaking way! Ok, SO glad I didn't order it from them. That's totally ridiculous. I mean, what's the reasoning??

BB's price was $39.99, with the extra DVD. Definitely see if you can grab a set from them and just cancel your Amazon order.

I know I couldn't wait another whole week to see all those extras!

It's my own fault. In the same order, I had a book that doesn't come out until next Monday. I guess they waited to ship everything together. :(

Soo...will you fill me in on what's on the extra Best Buy DVD? That way, I can decide if I want to buy two sets... :) (I don't think I can cancel the order, since it's already shipped.) And I'm stuck at work tonight, so I'll have to wait to go buy it until tomorrow, anyway. And by THAT time, you and Chris should have watched it... :D

Thanks again for Young MacGyver. I do wish it had been given a chance, but then again, would Jared have ended up on SPN if that would've happened? Kinda like Jensen with Still Life.

I guess we should just be thankful that their paths ended up on SPN!

I took half a day yesterday, expecting my DVDs to arrive via UPS. I even left a note for my UPS driver, since he tends to assume that people are not home without actually checking. About 45 minutes after I got home, he buzzed. I practically broke my leg, rushing downstairs. Turns out he saw my note and didn't realize the package he had was for 503, not 403. Oh, and the name was completely different, too.

*facepalm*

So, that noise you heard yesterday? No, not a sonic boom. That was me.

ARGH! You're kidding me! So where in the hell is YOUR package then?? Man, I hate UPS. My hub is Palatine, since I'm in cook county, but I swear to god, 90% of my packages end up in freaking Roselle, thereby delaying them at least another day.

And I though I heard something last night....

I nearly fainted when I found out that Jensen had been on Dark Angel. While I did like the series I didn't see all of it, so I did catch the DA marathon, and ohh, I am so glad I did. Phew, talk about be all you can be--and the first thing he does in that cell is TAKE HIS SHIRT OFF!! (Drop and give me 20, baby!!)

The Berrisford Agenda (as I'm sure you know now) was eletrifying. Really superb backstory for Alec, and I could see Dean peering around the corner. And he took his shirt off (again, sigh)and wore glasses. AND a suit (on Supernatural, I am such a Suit Slut, since the guys don't wear them often)

So you're feelin' the Alec love, too, eh? Great! LOL! I had to laugh at your "take your shirt off" comment. I swear, he's had his shirt off in 90% of the eps I've seen so far. Hubba-hubba, baby! But you know, he was kinda on the thin side back then. He's definitely bulked up, muscle wise and looks even hotter now. :-)

The Berrisford Agenda was simply amazing. Jensen was incredible and I was glad to see Alec get a front and center storyline. Yeah, he's a trained killer, but he's not heartless and that scene at the end, at Rachel's bed, just tore my heart out.

And yeah, we get to see him all wet and swimming in the pool and in glasses and in a suit! What more could we ask for in a single episode? LOL!

Oh, yeah. Max does give him a hard time, but I guess that's because she was trying to escape (uh, Max: he was under orders to copulate with you, the tunnel could have waited!!), so I guess she thought he was just accepting being a tool for the organization. But deep down, he didn't have the ice to do the hit.
