Ratings for All Dogs Go To Heaven

From Marc Berman at the Programming Insider

Vampire Diaries - 3.49 million
Smallville - 2.90 million
America's Next Top Model - 2.69 million
Nikita - 2.33 million
Supernatural - 2.08 million
Hellcats - 1.92 million
90210 - 1.88 million
Gossip Girl - 1.78 million
One Tree Hill - 1.70 million
Life Unexpected - 1.48 million

For easy reference/comparison:

Exile on Main Street - 2.89 million
Two and a Half Men - 2.33 million
The Third Man - 2.16 million (pre-empted in Chicago)
Weekend at Bobby's - 2.84 million
Live Free or Twi-Hard - 2.47 million
You Can't Handle the Truth - 2.51 million
Family Matters - 2.46 million

~~~~~~~
Glad the ratings are finally reflecting how I feel about this season. I didn't even bother to watch last night. That's how done I am with all this. Marc even branded it a "loser" this week.
Holy Crap!! Now it that doesn't make a statement, nothing will.
Tell me about it. I wish it would stay consistently this low this week, too, so Sera would get a clue, but I think everyone's going to want to see Ben Edlund's crack episode with Dean and the fairies.
But last night's episode was good in my eyes :(
Well hey, I'm glad you liked it! :-)
I thought last night's episode mostly sucked, so the ratings do reflect my personal opinion for the week.
However, I think I read that it was pre-empted in the St. Louis market, so that may have something to do with it.
While I haven't been quite as unhappy as you have been with the season, I am frustrated too because I do think Jensen is getting screwed over again with once again no story line that is specific to his own damn character. And I hate what they're doing with Sam - more than usual, which is saying something.
Ron Moore is wanting to remake The Wild Wild West. What a dream role that would be for Jensen! ;)
That seems to be the general consensus of everyone - that this past episode was boring, or flat or blah. So much for this crop of new writers, eh? :-(
<<However, I think I read that it was pre-empted in the St. Louis market, so that may have something to do with it.>>
True, it was, but that only means that the ratings will drop or stay the same in the finals, after the sports audience is factored out of the 2.08 million. So this episode truly was at the bottom of the barrel. I wish it would stay consistently this low this week, too, so Sera would get a clue, but I think everyone's going to want to see Ben Edlund's crack episode with Dean and the fairies.
I am frustrated too because I do think Jensen is getting screwed over again with once again no story line that is specific to his own damn character.
When I found out that Jensen was barely in this past one it cemented my decision to not waste my time ever watching it. That's all I need, the majority of the episode with Soul-less Sam - who is once again the most important character, the only character with a storyline. But that's no surprise because Sera's in charge.
And I hate what they're doing with Sam - more than usual, which is saying something.
I just think it's pointless. Why couldn't they have made Sam in some other way affected from his time in the cage? And have Crowley have kept Bobby's soul and have the boys work for him because of that?
<<Ron Moore is wanting to remake The Wild Wild West. What a dream role that would be for Jensen! ;)>>
Oh my GOD! That would be AWESOME!
I am still LOVING Show. That said, I don't understand the squee on my flist for this episode, for it was very meh.
That seems to be the general consensus of everyone - that this past episode was boring or flat or blah. This one was written by a new writer, correct? Hope their next one is better! I know I couldn't stand any of Dabb and Loflin's episodes when they first started, but they definitely got better, IMO.
[identity profile] khek.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Overall, I'm still enjoying the show. Last night's episode was rather boring though. I was trying to summarize for a friend who asks me what happened (her husband watches something else) and...I couldn't remember.
I'm really loving the season so far, but found this episode flat. Felt the same way about 6.2 - which means 2 for 2 with the new writers. I'm looking forward to next week, which is Edlund again.
Actually, you might have liked this week as it was very MOTW.
[identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Although I didn't watch this past episode, the new writers from 6.2 left me cold with that one, too. I was really hoping that some new blood in the writers room would be a good thing. Apparently not. [sigh]
[identity profile] morganslady.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked last night's episode,but then I'm a dog lover. I wasn't trilled with some things that happened to the dogs, but I wouldn't have turned Lucky out of my bed..
I thought the talk that Sam and dean finally had was a long time coming. And I hate to be the one to say this but I said all along, I was afraid if the show went to Season 6 something like this would happen,the show is slowly deflating. I wanted it to go out on top..
[identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I remember being so excited for season six, with all that Sera said about it being about family, back to the feel of season one. Then I realized really, really quick that she totally lied. So yeah, I wish it would've ended with season five, too. :-(
[identity profile] queeberquabbler.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
DOOD, I know. I watched it, and it was okay, but dammit, show can do so much better. See my own post in my journal if you want to read more grumblefritzing, heh.
[identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I need to head over to your LJ and read your post. Another friend told me Jensen barely had anything to do, so that cemented my decision to not waste my time and ever watch this one. I'm just SO done with Soul-less Sam.
Hey, if Sam ever gets his soul back (which I doubt will happen until the season finale) drop me an email. Because I'm not watching until that happens. I'm tired of hating a show that I used to so dearly love. I've got a lot of other shows that are making me happy instead.
[identity profile] queeberquabbler.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm, I'd watch this week if I were you. It's about fairies. And it's written by Edlund >:-D Looks fucking hilarious!
[identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well it's pre-empted here in Chicago for the second time on Friday, so by the time Saturday night rolls around maybe I'll have found out if it's worth watching, if Dean is in it for more than five minutes. Because if he gets arrested and the entire episode is Sam hunting on his own, nope, I won't be watching.
[identity profile] gershwhen.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I wish TPTB would see this for the clue that it is, that this season is sucking and going downhill fast. But I don't give them enough credit. I watched last night for Jensen, but would have been better off recording and watching the 2-3 minutes that he actually had camera time and story.
I liked Crowley as a general demon last season, but man am I hating Dean working for a demon. I was so frustrated last night at one point I thought, "You know what, just send Sam back to Hell. His soul is there already, be done with it." And as sad as that is, I don't think it was totally misplaced.
I loved finding out that Crowley was behind everything going on, but then like you, hated it when I found out that meant Dean would be working for him.
I couldn't agree with you more! What's the point of having him around? He treats Dean like crap and basically couldn't care about anyone or anything. Yeah, that's a character we need!
haahha!!!
[identity profile] winchesterwoman.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I think in the whole "life" of supernatural. Never had that low ratings! it is incredible! just 2 mullion, and the rest 35 or 45, where they are? that episode was crap yeah, but, I don't think the people just turn on the tv and later change the channel, they just don't watch it. If supernatural continue like this, I think cw will cancel it! just that is super low rating. But I don't know if that would be good for cw, having smallville going out and just Vampire diaries, and other awful showS I think they want to keep until the very end. they need viewers and I think don't have another show in shelves. Whoo. I don't know,if the show is canceled that would be sad to see go the only show I have loved in my life in that way.
You're absolutely right! That was the absolute lowest ranking episode of SPN ever, in six years. Maybe NOW Sera will wake up and see what she's doing to the show. I wish it would stay consistently this low this week, too, so Sera would get a clue, but I think everyone's going to want to see Ben Edlund's episode with Dean and the fairies.
I don't know,if the show is canceled that would be sad to see go the only show I have loved in my life in that way
It would be very sad if it gets canceled due to low ratings instead of Sera or Eric or whomever just deciding that it's time for the show to end. But honestly, if I'd have known that this was what Sera planned to do to the show this year, I wish it would've ended with season five.
Before it gets to late
[identity profile] winchesterwoman.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
For seeing just one episode low, maybe not. There should be more episodes like this one. But I wonder if there will be. Because it looks like, that many people who watch the show, base their likes on the spoilers and see if it is worth to watch it.
I wish it would stay consistently this low this week, too, so Sera would get a clue, but I think everyone's going to
want to see Ben Edlund's episode with Dean and the fairies.
That's a big problem! If they show to the fans a funny episode, or an episode where Dean is too much on screen, Then the fans will be stick on their tv, so, no another low ratings. :S
Yeah, but what you prefer, see how the show is smash to the last episode or it being canceled for the low ratings?
But honestly, if I'd have known that this was what Sera planned to do to the show this year, I wish it would've ended with season five.
I think it would be better if the show stopped in season for, with some changes like adam. But, well nothing we can do about it. Just maybe pray for more low ratings and that someone yell to sera and give her and ultimatum that change the curse or go away
[identity profile] katikat.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, the show was pre-empted in St. Luis and it didn't drop at all in final numbers. Also, the demo was 0.9, the same as the last time the show was pre-empted in Chicago, even the viewership is similar, so I think we can pretty much chalk it down to pre-emption again.
Also, this week, the show will be pre-empted in a major market again. Don't know where, but it was mentioned in the PiFeedback forum. So the ratings will be down again.
[identity profile] tonicollins.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
While I'm loving the glimpses of Castiel, the whole Sam plot is lamer than bad fanfic. Not to mention why could the alpha vamp be able to just look at Sam and see that he has no soul and Castiel, badass angel of the Lord, has to do an angel-ectomy to figure it out? *That* makes no sense whatsoever. And I'd love someone to ask this at a con. Preferably to a writer.
If Sam stays soulless the entire season, this *will* be SPN's last. There is no family feel here, Sera, you lying sack.
Now, if only Edlund could right every episode.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!
Speaking of the alpha vamp, how in the world was he so easily captured by the Campbell clan? He's way too powerful! Talk about lame!
and Castiel, badass angel of the Lord, has to do an angel-ectomy to figure it out? *That* makes no sense whatsoever. And I'd love someone to ask this at a con. Preferably to a writer.
Good point! But good luck getting an answer. A friend of mine at the last ComicCon asked a question for me about Sam drinking the demon blood to Kripke. They established that Sam never needed the blood (the Dumbo example) yet they kept having Sam drink it whenever it suited their purpose (the gallons to face Lucifer, for example. Which made NO sense since Lucifer is an angel, not a demon!). Kripke deliberately misinterpreted the question, because he had no explanation.
If Sam stays soulless the entire season, this *will* be SPN's last. There is no family feel here, Sera, you lying sack.
WORD. I didn't watch last week and have no desire to ever watch until Sam gets his soul back. But that won't be until the season finale. Otherwise what would this season be about? Getting Sam's soul back ties the season together.
So yeah, thanks for nothing Sera. Gonna have season six be like season one, eh? Gonna have it be about family, eh? Well you must have one screwed up family, then.
Now, if only Edlund could right every episode.
You know, I've got a love/hate relationship with Edlund. His sense of humor and mine vary wildly, so sometimes I really like the episode and others I cringe at. I'm wondering what way the fairies episode will fall. :-)
[identity profile] tonicollins.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm all for a season 6 do-over wherein Castiel is human. Now that's a season 7 I'd watch. *g*
If Sam had a soul, this season could've been like season 1 only with creepy raised from the dead grandpa and a civil war in heaven. I could get behind that.
[identity profile] agt-spooky.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
AMEN! Cas is the only thing that's making me happy this season, I just wish we'd see more than five minutes of him at a time! And a human Cas would've rocked. Ah, the things Dean could teach him. ;-)
If Sam had a soul, this season could've been like season 1 only with creepy raised from the dead grandpa and a civil war in heaven
Could you go out to LA, throw Sera under a bus and take over, please? *g*
[identity profile] tonicollins.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Could you go out to LA, throw Sera under a bus and take over, please? *g*
I'll have to live with the idea that in another universe, I've done just that. *vbg*
Honestly, I don't understand why having creepy grandpa and his agenda coupled with a civil war in heaven isn't *enough* of a conflict for this season. When I don't give a damn about a character, it does *not* encourage me to continue watching.
That's not to say that I don't like Sam, I do. Really. I just find the soulless thing to be so contrived that I. Just. Don't. Care.
