Will we see Castiel in Season Six?

From E!Online:

Denise in Janesville, Wis.: I'm hoping you can answer this question since it has turned into a very heated debate among the Supernatural fandom. The so-called hot topic is this: Does Misha Collins' contract with the show end this year, or does it run through the newly announced season six? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We checked on this for you, and insiders tell us that as of right now, Misha Collins' Supernatural contract is just through to the end of the current fifth season—in part because when his deal was being worked out, there was no such thing as a season six.

Sources close to the CW Award-winning Best Supporting Actor are "hopeful" that Misha will be asked back for season six, but as of right now, folks close to the recurring player are in the same holding pattern as the rest of us.

News about whether or not we'll get more Misha should come down over the coming weeks and months as the writing staff sorts out storylines for season six.

So, do you guys want to see more of Castiel/Jimmy in season six of Supernatural? Use the comments to tell the powers-that-be how you feel about Misha! It might make all the difference in the world...

Personally I hope that Misha will remain next year. I really love Cas and would hate to lose him. In what capacity an angel would play post-apocalypse on the show I'm not sure, but I hope there's a way to work him in.

I would like to see Misha come back for season 6. But you're right. I'm not sure what role our favorite angel would play in the post-apocalypse back to basics show.

Misha fans don't kill me, but since I want the Apocalypse to end with this season, I don't see how Castiel would fit into a Season 6..

Well, there's always the possibility that Cas has been affected enough by the choices he's made (thus far) and the attachments he's established with the Winchesters that there's not exactly a place for him in Heaven as he is.

Perhaps the journey of an angel who spent a good amount of time cut off from Heaven, searching for God, and working with The Two Vessels to stop Lucifer and end the Apocolypse isn't over when the fat lady sings... maybe he has more to learn about himself and how to handle his almost-total-immersion into humanity before he can once again appreciate what it means to be an angel.

If there's a story for the boys after all of this war? Then I'm sure there could be a story for their guardian angel as well, contracts willing.

*shrug*

Just a thought.

I can't imagine the show without him now. I loved pre-Castiel SPN, but now that he's been around, I can honestly say if Misha isn't in season 6 at all then I won't watch. That's not to say he has to be in EVERY episode, but if he isn't there at all? Sorry to say they'll lose me as a viewer. I just love the dynamics between him and Dean and Sam too much to see Cas go.

Cas?

Yes I was thinking the same thing that "morganslady", I love Catiel and I really love Misha but I don't know how its going to fit Misha in the new season, if we want a really good season 6, and Sera already said that its not going to be an Apocalypse anymore.
I think the writers are not going to say because they could spoiled the story. But I think they are going to say that maybe Cas could do a few appareances in season 6, they always say: in supernatural anyone could back.

it's true the apocalypse finsih cas can to leave at heaven. It can to remain the angel of dean and when dean need of him come to 4 or 5 episodes season 6.

Well... we might not have need of an angel... but a fallen angel??? Well... we could always use a new bad guy!

Season 6 Castiel

As we all know in the SPN universe...ANYTHING is possible. I would love to see Misha return as Castiel. He is an integral part of the cast. I believe Kripke could work a storyline with him in it for season 6.

This is one of the few areas I part company with you. I don't like Castiel - mainly because I'm so focused on the brothers and I feel he's one of the elements that's thrown them out of balance. I really want this whole story line over and done with and I'd be very happy if he doesn't return for the 6th season. However, if he just shows up occasionally, that wouldn't bother me so much.

If we don't have Misha/Cas back for season six...I WILL CRY! Like bawling, locking myself in my room for weeks kind of crying!

I love Cas WAY TO MUCH...it's probably unhealthy LOL ...not only that...DEAN NEEDS HIS ANGEL!

I would think the producers would try and find a way to keep him since he's one of the few semi-regulars/regulars aside from the boys that has resonated strongly with the audience. And I do think there are a couple ways they could keep him, but of course, it depends on how the season ends. I'm thinking they may not announce Misha's participation or not until after the season finale, because if they are going to keep him (and I hope so), how he sticks around would spoil the last episode before time.

But I guess what it really comes down to is the budget the CW gave the series for season six.

I hope that Misha will be back for the next season!

Well, I know the guys, especially Jensen, were not all that keen on 6 due to being away from home for so long. He also said that they would be asking for more money, etc. So my thinking is that they will keep Misha in some shape or form so that the guys get breaks in filming to go home more often like they did this year. Just my thoughts...

Me too

In what capacity an angel would play post-apocalypse on the show I'm not sure,

I think the same. what if they end the damn apocalypse in this season, then, what will be the space to fill Misha is the angel is not a need. that´would be strange. because then, there must be demons and, demons again, what a boring thing
