Supernatural Friday Five

Week 59: Theme Week!

Theme: Questions related to aspects/actors of Supernatural.

1.) Of the gag reels from season 1 and season 2 (if you still haven't seen them, you can find them on youtube), which scene was the most memorable to you? Why?

Oooh, from Season 1 it'd have to be Jensen and Jared in the Impala and Jensen lays his head in Jared's lap and Jared strokes his head. It was just so cute that it was my favorite scene.

From Season 2, it'd have to be where Jared farts in the car and poor Jensen looks like he's gonna hurl. LOL! I've seen that about a thousand times now and it never ceases to be funny. :-)

2.) Of all the other TV shows and/or movies Jared and Jensen have done, which is your favorite? Why?

For Jensen it'd have to be Dark Angel. He was just fantastic as Alec, and you can see that he was going to be great as Dean Winchester, with the same smart ass attitude hiding a caring heart underneath it all.

I'm afraid I've seen next to nothing Jared's been in, so I'd have to go with Young MacGyver. :-) Really! I thought he was good!

3.) How do you feel about fans writing fan fiction (of any rating) that feature Jared and Jensen?

Up until I got into SPN fandom, after having been in fandom in general for the last 14 years or so, I'd never even considered reading or writing Real Person Fic. But now...? A friend (and you know who you are! LOL!) sent me an SPN RPS story to read that she loved and I was curious. Now, 11 RPS stories later that I've written...I think I'm Ok with Real Person Fic. :-) I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for some reason, in this fandom, it works for me. [shrug]

4.) What are your feelings about the music on Supernatural? Has it opened your eyes to an entirely new kind of music? Do you suddenly love classic rock? Or is it the classical episodic compositions (by Christopher Lennertz and the like) that have affected you? Or has the music not affected you at all?

The music has definitely affected me - from the classic rock to the original scores. I never thought I was much of a classic rock fan but there have been a LOT of songs used that I really, really like. In fact, the songs that I've downloaded and loaded into iTunes or made CDs of are what I play the most these days. And if I hear a song used on SPN come on the radio or if I'm in a store shopping it never fails to put a smile on my face.

5.) If Supernatural were ever to become popular with the mainstream media (sort of like Grey's Anatomy or CSI is today), how do you think our show would affect the media and potential new viewers? What would you hope potential new viewers consider about Supernatural before and after watching it?

I would want potential new viewers to not brush it off as a Buffy or X-Files clone and never give it a shot. Because SPN is so much more than monsters of the week. It's the family dynamic that's really at the heart of this show, and something that I don't think ever comes across in the advertising that CW does for it. And that's a real shame. Because while the vampires and ghosts are cool, and what brought me to the show initially, it's the brothers and their relationship that keeps me coming back now.
