Sorry "Bloodlines" - you bled out for this viewer

Decided to tune back into SPN last night for one episode because it was filmed here in Chicago. I loved seeing my city actually playing Chicago and places I'm familiar with. But other than that, I needn't have bothered. "Bloodlines" was an awful rip-off of Kindred: The Embraced, populated with nothing but typical young, pretty CW actors with one bland expression. I'm so not interested in a Romeo and Juliet soap opera version of gritty and dark Supernatural. Boooooring. But that's typical CW fare so I shouldn't be surprised. I was really hoping I was going to enjoy the spin off, but with the exception of David I couldn't connect with any of the characters. Speaking of David and the "shifters" did I miss something along the way, with them not having to shed their skins and just change instantaneously? Are we just rewriting SPN canon again when it suits the writers?

What did all of you think of Bloodlines? Interested enough to tune in if it gets picked up to series or are you changing the channel? It'll be interesting to see what the ratings are later today.

Oh wow, it was just terrible. I kept waiting to see just a few minutes of Sam & Dean, and I had to wait through a LOT of crap.

Thanks for pointing that out about shifters! So true. I don't think they can even call this a spin-off, because I'm sure they are going to write to suit their own ideas and chuck the SPN canon out the window. I will not stick around to find out!

It was just so....blah. Nothing to spark my interest. I haven’t seen even one positive review of it, anywhere on LJ or any of the entertainment sites. But what do you want to bet that CW picks it up to series anyway?
