I'd love it if Dean was the hunter but the gun was built many years before(the colt would have been built in the late 1830's-Remember the Alamo!:), if this is the "Wild West" then it likely takes place no earlier than the late 1850's). Not to mention it sounds like Sam is the only one with scenes with Samuel Colt.

I've actually been pretty good with Dabb and Loughlin since last season. TBH, ALL the writers have disappointed me in the last couple of seasons so I don't depend on any of them anymore to give me good Dean, I just count my lucky stars when they managed to do it. Let's hope its the Dabb and Loughlin of recently and not the Dabb and Loughlin of Season 4 who wrote this script. :)
