Summertime TV

As the endless summer drags on with no new episodes of Supernatural in sight for MONTHS [whimper] I'm thankful for the networks who do original programming to keep us occupied until our favorite shows return in the fall.
Here's what I'm watching this summer. What about you?
• Persons Unknown - Jason Wiles! Jason Wiles! Oh, how I've missed you since Third Watch. This is basically another Harper's Island type show.
• Warehouse 13 - This is like a summer popcorn movie every week. It's just fun!
• Rookie Blue - My absolute favorite new show of the summer, an import from Canada that's showing on ABC. I love looking at police work through the eyes of these four new officers. And I like all of the cast, which includes Eric Johnson. He's been popping up everywhere since being on Supernatural last season. And Ben Bass is in it, too! Gosh, I loved him as Vachon on Forever Knight.
• Flashpoint - Another Canadian cop drama import that's been on for several summers now that I love. The cast is fantastic, including Hugh Dillion and Enrico Colantoni.
• Leverage - Need I say more? ;-)
• Mall Cops: Mall of America - Who knew so much went on at the mall! LOL!
~~~~
Then there's a few shows who haven't yet started this summer that I'll be watching. Two old and two new:
• The Glades - A new show on A&E that interests me because it sounds like Houston Knights - a cop from Chicago has to be transfered out of the city and ends up in Florida. I hope it turns out to be good.
• Covert Affairs - I'm a big fan of Christopher Gorham, which is why I'm going to give this one a shot.
• Psych - I got into this one big time just last summer and mainlined all of the seasons in about two months. Now I'm totally addicted to Shawn and Gus and can't wait for the new season to start.
• White Collar - Okay, who ISN'T watching this freaking awesome show? :-) Matthew Bomer is unbelievably sexy and Neal's partnership with Peter has epic bromance written all over it. Love it and can't wait for it to start up again.
So there you have it! It's not the Winchesters, but they'll keep me entertained until September. :-)
Ah, crap, I knew there was another one I was considering. Thanks for the reminder. And, of course, it also airs on Sunday like four or five other things premiering this summer. *ack*!
Yay, another fan! \o/ I really got hooked on this thing. I can't wait to see how it's all resolved. You do know that they moved it to Saturday starting Jul 17?
That's the same problem I ran into! I was trying to program the DVR and I like to set it to record a couple minutes after the show ends, just in case, but it started going crazy when I tried it because I was trying to record over top of something else. :-)
I was totally bummed about Tori, though. I liked her! She was ditzy but I liked her. Not really liking this new chick, though. And it scares me they've already moved nights on it, that they're just gonna cancel it before we get to the end.
Yeah, I liked Tori too and I was sorry she was killed - though I suspected she would be. And I'm guessing she won't be the only one. The new chick is played by the same actress who played Dee on Battlestar Galactica - don't know if you watched that one. Quite a different role for her. Don't like her as well as Tori either, but we'll see.
You know I always pegged Joe for the plant, right from the start. But I'm glad to see, as I hoped, that he'd turn out to want to help.
I don't mind them moving it to Sat as long as they intend to air all 13 episodes. If this was fall or spring, I know they wouldn't. But given it's a summer series, there's a better chance they'll take it through to the end. Otherwise, the dvds are supposed to come out in August, and if they won't air them all, I'll definitely be picking up those!
I wouldn't mind if that slimy Blackman guy is the next to go!
Yeah, it was kinda obvious something was up with him, because he was the only one not sharing any details about his life, etc. Good to know that he's having second thoughts about whatever the heck is going on in that town.
This was my fear with Harper's Island, too. The ratings were terrible and I was certain they'd can it before they showed them all. So yeah, I don't mind that it'll be on Saturday now, just as long as we get to see everything. I didn't know about the DVDs in August. Thanks for the info!
