The 12 Days of Christmas - J2 style - Day Four

Oops, almost forgot to post this today! More Christmas boys!

The hubby and I finally got our Christmas tree up last night. (for those of you confused by my last post about Hanukkah, John is Jewish and I'm not, so we get twice the celebrations!) Actually, it's not our tree. We're borrowing it from my friend at work. Sounds bizarre, doesn't it? :-) See, for the last nine years, John and I lived in a place that had vaulted ceilings in the living room. And my Jewish husband wanted the biggest artificial tree he could find. [shakes head] So we have a twelve foot pre-lit tree. Only problem is, now that we're in our new house, we don't have vaulted ceilings anymore, so the tree won't fit in the living room. [sigh]

We were talking about decorating at work the other day and I mentioned that our tree won't fit anymore and that we don't have the money right now to go buy a smaller one. My friend that sits next to me bought a new, bigger tree this year, so her smaller one was just sitting in a box in her garage, so she offered to loan it to John and I this year. Yay! So now we've got a borrowed tree. :-)

It's only six feet tall so it looks SO tiny compared to what we're used to and we got it decorated in a third of the time it usually took us. But at least we've got a tree, and after Christmas we'll see if we can get a new one for ourselves when they all go on sale. :-)

This weekend - gift wrapping time!

so, he being jewish, he does not have problem with celebrate christmas? I ask you that, because what I know is that the jewish people tend to no tolerate some things. well, it was I have been seen here in my country, where we have so much jewish people and what the people have in mind about them is "jewish: selfish, despot and just find to earn money in anything". I had a friend that was jewish and he was cool, but just that part of get earn money with anything and selling you things so much expensive when they were so cheaper. and well I know that there are different kind of jewish, the ortodox those ones who don´t walk, and turn on electronics and don´t eat cream with chicken etc. and those ones who wear that hat. and those ones that just they called jewish but don´t do a thing of their religion. so how relax is your husband about it?

No, my husband does not have a problem with Christmas. He quite enjoys it, in fact, since he's been married to me. Nor is he anything like the stereotype you just described. He tries to observe Kosher but he's not Orthodox.

That´s Good
