Simply because vampires are all the rage now (aka Twilight) and it's a new show. Heck, even I watched it out of curiosity as to how good a lead in it'll be for SPN. (and it's not, by a long shot) But the real numbers will come to light in the next couple of weeks, when it's just the true fans sticking around.
