What are the odds that Eliot's crotch will actually explode?

Leverage is BACK, baby!!

And it was definitely firing on all cylinders last night. I have to admit I was nervous, wondering if Rogers and Downey could keep up the excellent level of writing from last season. I needn't have worried. :-)

So let's chat a bit about The Beantown Bailout Job...

Welcome back Nate, Sophie, Parker, Hardison and Eliot! I've missed you. :-) I actually got double the Leverage dosage yesterday as my first season DVDs arrived a couple hours before the show came on. And I'm thrilled to see that the episodes on the DVDs are in the order they were supposed to have been shown in on TNT. Can't wait to get to the extras.

Ok, so, The Beantown Bailout Job.

The only thing I disliked in the entire episode was the horrible special effect right at the beginning of the car flying up into the air and flipping upside down over Nate's head. Really badly done! (like the airplane landing on the road last season) Word to Rogers and Downey - guys, this show really doesn't need special effects. This isn't Star Trek. :-)

I absolutely loved everyone showing up at Sophie's opening night of Sound of Music (I only wish we'd gotten to see her sing! LOL!). Did you hear Parker picking up her ticket and they guy asking for her first name and her saying "Parker. Just one name." Will we ever find out her first name? :-)

How funny was it that they're all miserable NOT being the good guys?? LOL! Loved it!

Parker/Hardison still continues to own me. That line from Hardison to her, "I did look for you for six months." And her line back to him about people being like locks, and you have to have patience and fiddle with them. Awww! They're so freaking cute! I haven't liked a het couple on TV since Mulder and Scully.

Ok, how freaking HOT was it when Eliot picks up that baseball bat and twirls it over his head?? God DAMN Christian Kane, how is it possible for you to get even more amazing from one season to the next?

Speaking of Eliot, the BEST line last night from Parker: "What are the odds that Eliot's crotch will actually explode?" And then Eliot practically dancing on the sidewalk, trying to get the little explosives out of his pants! ROTFL!!

Let's keep going about Eliot, shall we? *g* I actually jumped when he got "shot" three times. I had completely forgotten about the spoiler I'd read that someone gets three slugs to the chest. Here I thought that he'd have a bulletproof vest on or something, but I'd swore I'd seen blood squirt out when he got shot. Ketchup! LOL! Brilliant!

The ending was fantastic, too. Here I thought it was over when Nate decided not to have a drink after finding out about Sophie's boyfriend, but wait! Looks like the Leverage crew has decided to move in to Nate's condo 'cause Hardison now owns the building! LOL! Eliot coming through the wall with the chainsaw was awesome. :-)

So there you have it! A few of my thoughts. Want to share some of YOURS? :-)

YEAH Leverage is back. Went out and bought my S1 DVD's yesterday so there will be a Leverage marathon this weekend for sure.

My fave scene was the fight scene with Eliot, OMG he is awesome. Loved the twirling bat and the mob guy with the broken nose - "sorry bout that!" I loved when he waves them toward him (bring it on). I've watched that scene a dozen times and will probably watch it a dozen more. He moves so fast you miss so much. I love that spinning back kick that is becoming such a trademark of his. I also liked when Hardison mentioned tapping into the WH computers and "we're doing something hinky in Pakistan" -
Eliot what have you been doing for six months..."uh, I've been in Pakistan!" ROTFLOL Love these guys. Can't wait for more. I just wish they weren't breaking the season up like that. On the other hand it will give me something to look forward to this winter. Barb, no gag reel, I was bummed too. Just clips that we have seen on the TNT website. I did like the deleted scenes and felt most should've been left in. I listened to some of the commentary by the producers and they are always talking about the cast and how great they are to work with and how they really like each other. Paritcularly Kane and Aldis. They call themselves Murtagh and Riggs on the set ala Lethal Weapon!!! Total Cuteness

Hey June!

Yes, Leverage is back! It feels like forever since the end of last season.

Glad you got your DVDs, too! I definitely need to find time to go through the extras and at least watch the pilot and the Two-Horse Job and maybe the Wedding Job. :-)

No gag reel?? What's up with that?? Darn! You're telling me these guys didn't do anything funny on set the whole season??

Interesting that you said most of the deleted scenes should've been kept in. Usually it's better that they were cut. Now I'm all interested to watch them!

And Eliot - what can I say that you didn't already cover? :-) He's freakin' awesome! And YES, that scene with the bat was just sexy as all hell! And how often can you say that about a fight scene? Only when it's Christian Kane! Oh, do you know that next week's episode is all about MMA fighting, that Chris has done professionally for years? Sounds like it's gonna be an Eliot-heavy ep. Yes!

Murtagh and Riggs? LOL!! That's hysterical! I can totally see the two of them doing that. :-)

The breaking up of the season is a bummer, but when fall gets here there will be plenty of returning shows to watch and then when they're all off for the winter we get Leverage again. I keep reminding myself that. :-)

Hey Barb,

I got a look at the promo for tonight's episode and it looks awesome. Major Eliot tonight! I've been going through the DVD's....there are some bloopers in the deleted scenes so be careful to check them all. I'm also enjoying the commentary and listening to the producers talk about the cast and how they came about pairing Parker and Eliot and Eliot and Hardison, about the chemistry they all have and what it's like working with them. Some of Eliot's scenes are some of their favorite moments. I've only listened to a little so far but I am going to have to go back and watch all with the comments turned on.

What did you think of The Tap-Out Job? I posted my review this morning. Loved it! Chris was amazing!

Oh, I will, thanks so much for the heads up! I still haven't found the time to sit down and watch any of the extras.

I'm also enjoying the commentary and listening to the producers talk about the cast

Excellent! Sometimes commentary can be really boring. Do any of the actors do any of the commentary?

Some of Eliot's scenes are some of their favorite moments.

Hee! Mine, too!

I've only listened to a little so far but I am going to have to go back and watch all with the comments turned on.

Boy, I need to spend some serious time with these DVDs!

The Tap-Out Job delivered big time!! Loved the scene with Parker and Hardison with Eliot egging her on. Listening to Hardison was hysterical. I love the fact that they are delving into the backgrounds of the characters since they got together so fast. Eliot is fascinating and it's fun seeing what makes him tick. The scene with Sophie really showed Eliot's vulnerable side. Kudos to Chris for a job well done.

According to the producers and directors, a lot of stuff is added by the actors. Aldis does a lot of ad-libbing and they say Chris is always looking for little things to add to a scene, such as his twirling the Toblerone, a hypo, and the bat. I'm learning a lot of behind the scenes tidbits from the commentary on the DVD set. DD,
Chris Downey and John Rogers have quite a bit to say about their great cast.

Glad you liked the Tap-Out Job, too, June!

I love the fact that we've just scratched the surface with each character's backstory. I mean, they've not exactly led ordinary lives, so there's a lot of flashbacks and info for us still to learn, which is fantastic. Keeps the show interesting!

The scenes between Eliot and Sophie were great. I mean, of all characters, she's probably the one Eliot has had the least one on one interaction with since season one, so that was nice.

and they say Chris is always looking for little things to add to a scene, such as his twirling the Toblerone, a hypo, and the bat

Love that he puts these little quirks into Eliot's character. :-)

I just started watching the extras on the DVDs. Watched everything on the last disc and now I'm starting on all the deleted scenes. I wish they were all on the last disc instead of spread out on each DVD. I need to start listening to the commentary next. :-)
