I'm thinking it did have quite a bit to do with the repeat being on in Smallville's place. We know how awful CW is at advertising things, so I'm sure a lot of SV fans tuned in, not realizing it wasn't on and liked what they saw (of course, since it was from season 2!) and stayed for Jus in Bello.
