A few months ago, a friend on LJ stepped out of the room for a minute, came back, slammed the dryer door and started it, then headed out for a day with her family. She came back to find that her cat had apparently slipped into the dryer during those moments when she was out of the room, and was absolutely devastated to realize how her beloved pet had died. She said her vet told her that quite a few cat deaths happen that way. .
