Lots and lots of SPN things!
Boy, I’m away from the computer for a day and a half and look what happens. :-)
First, there’s an interview with the author of the upcoming SPN tie-in book, Nevermore.
Then there’s a pic of the boys from episode 19.
And THEN there’s this freaking hysterical vid of the bloopers of Jensen and Jared doing their voice over thingys for the Channel Ten commericals. I love them to pieces!!
And last, but certainly not least,
sen1995,
dairwendan and
tecetyeintyale– you guys ROCK. The great discussion you guys have going is too cool! It would take me pages of my own comments to reply back to all of yours, so let me sum up instead:
Ok, let’s start with Wendigo – heck, I didn’t have a problem with it, either. Loved the peanut M&M’s and Dean’s line about not wearing shorts. :-) But just in general, the brother moments were great, which makes it a winner in my book.
As for Jess and Ava and Madison and Sarah – I find myself in the Sarah camp (sorry, Deborah!) Not that I have anything against Jess, but of the four women, we got to know her the least – just a few scenes, whereas the other ladies had an entire episode. So there’s just more of everyone else to form an opinion on, IMO. I didn’t have a problem with any of these gals, but of them I thought Sam and Sarah just fit together better. But honestly? I don’t want to see Sam with anyone but Dean. And yes, you can take that in a gen or wincest way. ;-)
Let’s move on to Bugs – while the actual “bug” aspect of the episode was totally stupid, we get some GREAT brother moments in this, and more insight into Sam, Dean and John’s relationship. I always wonder why people are so quick to dismiss this episode – why they only remember the bugs and not all the family stuff. And really, how could I not like an episode where everyone mistakes Sam and Dean for a gay couple. [snerk]
Route 666 – certainly my least favorite of season 1. Only watched it a couple times. But
dairwendan, you summed up the ONLY reasons why I’ve watched it more than once.
Season 1 vs. Season 2 – yes, S2 has definitely moved me more than S1, as it should, really. In S1 you establish who the characters are, etc. and what motivates them, and in S2 you should start delving much more deeply into that, which S2 has. But sometimes S2 episodes are just painful to watch – in an emotional way, not plot wise. There is SO much angst in S2 I find it sometimes difficult to go back and rewatch them as many times as I have S1 episodes. Anyone agree with that?
And yes, I hated John until the last two episodes of S1 He’ll still never win Father of the Year from me, but now that he’s gone I do miss him, I hate the fact that the boys are now orphans, you know? And he gave his life to save one of his sons. That earns a gold star in my book.
Many thanks to those of you guys who commented with what you'd like to see happen in the remaining episodes of season 2 - I think some of them have a really good chance of happening!
Geez - only FIVE episodes left?? Where did the season go??

Thanks for this, Barb! I hadn't seen this one and they are just too cute. And I came across a series of short interviews of Jensen speaking about playing Alec in Dark Angel (which I still haven't seen except for his first episode when he played Ben). This vid was just posted last month, so maybe some others haven't seen it either. Go here:

Jensen is just so friggin' gorgeous and adorable in this - I love how he talks a lot with his hands.
Thanks, Barb. I enjoyed speaking with the other two ladies and now reading your comments!
Ahh, the M&M's - I forgot them. "What do you mean I didn't bring provisions?" Ahhh, Dean. So much good stuff in this episode - I can't believe there are people that didn't like it.
No need to apologize, Barb! I know I am in a very, very small minority where Sarah is concerned. And while I agree that Jess was only in a few scenes, those scenes were so wonderful - as I said before, Jared and Adrianne had great chemistry, and it was so obvious in those few short scenes that Sam and Jess loved each other. I would have liked to have gotten to know her better.
Speaking of Sarah, did anyone else think that in the blooper reel, when Jared and especially the actress who played Sarah (Taylor something?) kept breaking up in the scene where Jensen is sitting in the background that he (Jensen) didn't look too happy about it? He never seemed to crack a smile during take after take after take.
I simply love this episode - even the bugs don't bug me much (well, except for the lady realtor being killed by the spiders - they looked really fake), but it's all the brother interaction and as you mention all the insight we get into, in particular, Sam and John's relationship, is worth the price of admission alone. Throw in the funny stuff - Dean and his pool winnings, the Oprah comment, Dean egging Sam until he insists on climbing down into that hole ("Beetles? In a hole in the ground? Shocking, Sam") and the "sexual orientation" remarks - priceless. And I also love the story about how, because the boys were in regular clothes, Kim refused to wear a bee suit when he shot the scene with all the bugs in the attic. It's no wonder J&J love him.
Again my comment is too long - I will split it into two.

Aren't they? LOL! But if I hear the word "seriously" one more time I'll scream. ;-)

Oh my gosh, you haven't seen S2 of Dark Angel?? You MUST! Jensen is simply fantastic and he's in like 90% of the episodes. I see a bit of Dean in Alec, being the cocky wise ass kinda guy.
Thanks for that link! I hadn't see that before. And yes, Jensen speaking with his hands. [sigh] Need I explain my choice of icon here? ;-)
Jensen looked SO gorgeous in this interview and I had to laugh at his talk about the guns - he's like a little kid! And really, why on EARTH would you turn down THAT man as your breeding partner?? I wanted to smack Max. :-)
Jared and Adrianne had great chemistry, and it was so obvious in those few short scenes that Sam and Jess loved each other. I would have liked to have gotten to know her better.
Oh, I totally agree. You could tell they really cared for each other, but like you, I would've loved to have seen more of her. And perhaps in Episode 20??
kept breaking up in the scene where Jensen is sitting in the background that he (Jensen) didn't look too happy about it?
He looked totally ticked off! And really, with the quantity of bloopers they showed from Provenance, I can see why he'd be getting annoyed at her and Jared's inability to get ONE scene done without cracking up. Poor Jensen!

Exactly! I just wonder why people always forget about that aspect of the episode, you know?
On to part 2!

Oh, I know! JoAnn has been all over me to watch it, too. I bought the DVDs months ago but just have not a chance to watch them. I've decided that once SPN ends for the season I will begin watching DA!
Thanks for that link! I hadn't see that before. And yes, Jensen speaking with his hands. [sigh] Need I explain my choice of icon here? ;-)
Not a bit! All that hand talking reminded me of our darling BS!
I certainly hope so! I hope they have the same relationship in the alternate reality. Let's face it, Sam is going to be different in this other reality, too. His life will have been completely different. This show is really going to be interesting. I wonder how it is going to go - the cw blurb says something about Dean being attacked - so were the guys on a hunt or something, Dean gets *attacked* by this thing then, what, is he in a coma or something and dreaming all of this? And who is this woman that helps him remember - someone he saved at one time who is now in danger again (didn't an earlier side say something like Dean saw bodies in a closet or something and a woman he recognized asking for help?). I am really looking forward to this one (did I say that already?)
Thanks - I wondered if I was the only one who noticed that!

Yay! You won't be disappointed. I remember when DA first aired, I didn't want to watch it because I thought it sounded like a rip-off of Sentinel! Some chick with enhanced senses, etc. and I'm like, "no thanks!". But now, after having watched season 2 of it, I really liked it, and wished it had continued for another year. :-)
I hope they have the same relationship in the alternate reality
I bet Sam and Jess, do, and it's probably even better, actually. Since Sam wouldn't have had to worry about keeping the hunting from Jess and what he's done in the past.
Dean gets *attacked* by this thing then, what, is he in a coma or something and dreaming all of this?
Good question! How does all of this go down?
And who is this woman that helps him remember - someone he saved at one time who is now in danger again (didn't an earlier side say something like Dean saw bodies in a closet or something and a woman he recognized asking for help?)
Yeah, the new blurb says it's a "strange girl" but the script pages do say that Dean recognizes her. Perhaps before Dean gets attacked by the Djinn he and Sam have just saved this girl or something along those lines, so that when we see her in the alternate reality we'll know who she is.
